Our UK Data Centre Solutions
State-of-the-art UK Data Centres
EBC Group’s primary data centre is situated within Telephone House, at Birmingham BT Tower, which is the 3rd largest communication hub in the UK. This location and our partnership with BT ensures we can provide unrivalled connectivity, resilience and latency.
Our Birmingham data centre sits alongside our other high specification data centres based in the West Midlands and Bristol, providing an always-on facility, with no single point of failure. Uptime data centre tier standards are a standardised method to determine the availability and reliability of a data centre facility.
Built to Tier 3 specifications the data centre has fully backed-up power supply and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, ensuring 99.982% availability for customers’ applications and data.
Latency, which is the delay before a transfer of data, is significantly reduced by the distance between a data centre and the core node. The more hops required, means the more gateways and interconnections that are required, with each adding further delay. The EBC Group data centre resides on a core node, meaning there are zero hops between EBC Group’s data centre and BT’s core network, which significantly reduces latency.
EBC Group’s Birmingham data centre has the highest levels of security which ensures your data remains protected, including being powered by a UPS system, backed up by a generator and safety systems including VESDA and Inergen.

EBC Group’s primary data centre resides on one of the twenty UK BT core nodes, with direct low latency access in to BT’s 21CN network. EBC Group’s multiple data centres are inter-connected by diversely routed ultra-high-speed fibre connections for resiliency, scalability and performance. Multiple internet breakouts co-exist in each location for maximum performance and availability.
EBC Group Group’s primary data centre resides on the core node, meaning there are zero hops between EBC Group’s data centre and BT’s core network, which significantly reduces latency. Our data centres have the benefit of using multiple providers where the platform is agnostic and is determined by the provider’s compatibility.
EBC Group are a Gold Dell Technology Partner with our latest data centre being a pure Dell EMC environment running on 14th Generation Dell EMC series servers. Utilising the very latest VMware based cloud virtualisation platform, EBC Group can offer scalable, high performance, geo-resilient cloud compute.
Multiple geo-located award-winning Dell EMC Hybrid storage arrays feature advanced automated tiered storage with automated failover technology to ensure client data is replicated in real-time across each data centre. Intelligent deduplication and compression on both SSDs and HDDs make for great performance and maximum cost-savings.
Due to IO demand vs capacity the storage is configured with a hybrid approach making use of both solid state storage and spinning disks. This offers superior performance to an end user at far less costs than a typical on premise capital investment of this type.
EBC Group utilise a number of monitoring platforms to ensure a streamlined service guaranteeing the highest levels of uptime and performance. All hardware and network connectivity across all of our data centres will be monitored and our data centre team will be proactively alerted if there is an event outside of the defined tolerances. In addition to notifying the data centre team, it is also used to notify clients via SMS alerts.
In addition to proactive alerts, it’s used as a reporting tool to present customers with easy to understand reports showing usage, trends, growth etc. Fire-walling on a per client basis will be integrated into WatchGuard Cloud for visibility into inbound and outbound traffic. EBC Group at the service provider level will ensure the edge network is secured with decisions made based on the visibility available.
This enables EBC Group to obtain a high-level, aggregated “bigger picture” view of network activity that pinpoints top threats and trends, active policies and traffic patterns, and correlated views of top users and applications.
Data centre backup and replication monitoring is integrated into Veeam’s Availability Console. Veeam Availability console is a central backup management solution which is used by EBC Group to monitor and report on client backups and replications.
Veeam’s Availability console is directly integrated into EBC Group’s service delivery system, which in turn automatically creates and assigns support tickets to ensure proactive resolution to backup issues are logged and tracked efficiently.
